The Program encourages personal expression through the creation of jewelry, functional objects, and sculpture. Students have the opportunity to explore a variety of processes and materials .The program builds on a foundation of traditional and contemporary metalsmithing techniques, emphasizing skilled craftsmanship, conceptual rigor, design, aesthetics, and familiarity with the medium's history. The curriculum covers a full range of techniques for the production of jewelry, and small metal sculpture, which may include soldering, cold connections, forging, casting, enameling, stone setting, polymer clay embellishments and glass fusing.
